Find another attorney; avoid at all costs. I hired Mr. Burns October of 2022 for a misdemeanor case. He agreed to take it to trial for a flat amount and I paid him up front, in full. He never would answer the phone, he went 2 or 3 hearings and that was it. He acted afraid of the ADA's, and was completely incompetent. As an investigator myself, I pointed out things to him that he said "Oh, I never thought of that". The last hearing he didn't even show up and sent his partner and he was completely unprofessional and flat out wrong in what he told me; actually arguing with me as we went in the courtroom. After about 5 months of this, I fired him and got another attorney. She got the pending case dismissed within 15 minutes of meeting with the ADA. When I asked for a refund minus the "work" he had done, he fabricated an itemized bill for 11 hours which ate up the entire amount of what I paid him to include every time I called and talked to his secretary, and we were nowhere near the trial date. I paid him for a trial, not 11 hours of fabricated itemized times of "looking up the DA" or phone calls to his secretary. He told me one amount to go to trial, I pay him up front and in full, and so he doesn't have to give any money back, he fabricates a bill that eats up all the money I gave him months before it even goes to trial. I have all of the paperwork and can prove what I claim. AVOID!!!!!
